I’ve been casually following the lawsuit of the woman in MN who was accused of file sharing on Kazaa some 50 billion years ago. Low and behold the labels win. Massively. In MN?! I thought y’all were nice. Anywho, it’s now game on for the record industry. With precedent, who knows who or where they can target next (college campuses seem like a ripe playground for picking off innocent freeloaders…).

Sort It Out
Nov 16
My co-worker just gave me a new CD ( to be reviewed, just you wait) that he burned at home. Since it is of the less than legal type, I got no track names, no artist, no nothing when I popped it into Steve Job’s looking glass into my music habits. What to do with the “Track 1″ phenomenon, particularly if I don’t know what “Track 1″ really is? Well, all it really needs is a TuneUp – some genius program that feeds off of “iWant to suck up your whole life” and sorts out all of the mayhem of distributed music missing critical info. No more lost track names, album covers, or genre’s. You want more? Fine. They’ll throw in concert searching for your library AND a sneek peak at what else you can learn about your favorite artists on the web. Not bad if you have a lot of co-workers who like to give you semi-pirated material.
Fade to Pay

This whole blogging everyday helps you unearth little gems as you struggle to keep up with ” how can I find anything worthwhile to post. Like the fact that theFader drops lots of free music all the heezy for sheezy. And a lot of it is really good. Even the guilty pleasure stuff is straight bangin!
So check out their Freeloading and see for yourself. The magazine is still a pay service, but who reads these days. Surely not our lame duck president.
Top Drops: June

Whew! What a long month in between posts. My negligence can be explained. But it may take a while and I’d rather not waste the blog space. Suffice to say, I am sorry for those who have waited patiently for my top picks of June. In response, I shall make it brief as one album has dominated my life for the past 6 weeks. No contest. And a shoe in for a Top Drop of 2008
Girl Talk, Feed the Animals – The formal review is forthcoming. Just know two things:
1) This album is amazing
2) You can pay what you want for it. Click on the album link and check it out for yourself.
